Are You Managing Your Flitter?

I have actually never cleaned up my Twitter. What am I talking about? Getting rid of those people who are inactive or not following me back. Recently I was told by friend Mike Whitmore about ManageFlitter.com. Using this tool in combination with Firefox ad on called Check Fox is pretty much glorious!

Below you can see a screen shot(click to enlarge) of the ManageFlitter.com once you are logged in. Here you can see users you are following who are inactive, not following you back, those who are quieter or more talkative. Once you have selected one of these tabs you can you use the Check Fox add-on to select all the people showing up on the page. This tool makes this job much easier in many different online situations, allowing you to check all the boxes displayed on a page. You are then also able to filter out users who have verified accounts or who are “popular”. If you scroll over users you can get more detailed information about them, helping you decide if you want to unfollow or not. You are also able to use the filters on the top and sort the list by followers, following, listed, tweets, username and last tweet.

For me personally I went in there and unfollowed anyone who had not tweeted in over 2 months. Then I pretty much unfollwed anyone who was not following me back. I am at an unstable follow count, making it difficult to really use the main Twitter stream. Relying on lists and hashtags is more my focus and concentration and how I use Twitter.

Of course we then have the follow tab – showing you what users are following you, that you are not following. You are able then filter to see people who you are not following that have Retweeted any of your tweets or have @replied to you. How awesome is that!!! Of course then you are able to use the general function of following people who are following you and you are not.

Then we have the track tab. This tab can be an emotional one as you can clearly see who has unfollowed you. Of course it’s always interesting to see that sort of stuff. You are able to see who followed you, unfollowed you , you unfollowed, all changes and some nice graphs for your reports (if you do that sort of thing).

Much like any tool out there – there is a pro version that gives you the following benefits: You can see those benefits by clicking here.

Affilaite Summit West 2011

From Left to Right: Mike Whitmore, Nadia Aly, Kris Krug & Marcus Nelson

I had been waiting for Affiliate Summit West since Affiliate Summit East back in August of 2010. I have grown to love conferences and among the top of them sits Affiliate Summit. For those of you who don’t know what Affiliate Marketing is – it’s pretty much working mostly with 3rd party networks and using their ads that they have with their advertisers. You can do all sorts of marketing such as Search, Social and Email Marketing. These are the three main revenue streams for most affiliates. Personally the networking at this event was beyond valuable for me it was priceless.

I had entered a panel called ‘ Social Media Business Etiquette | The Does and Don’ts.

As time moved forward I had some great people on the panel lined up. Marcus Nelson, Director of Social Media for SalesForce – Mike Whitmore, President of Fresh Consulting and Kris Krug, Static Photography. These three did a great job on the panel, bringing up all sorts of situations and advice for the audience.

A great memory will be after the panel when we all sat down at the Wynn Buffet. The bonding in these conferences are just great experiences.

I spent 7 days in Las Vegas. It was a great time that took a lot of energy to execute.

Wordcamp YVR 2010

This past weekend I was honored to speak at Wordcamp Vancouver. The conference focuses on many different aspects of Word Press. From the latest version to the most useful plug-ins, this a place for learning and asking questions. There was an amazing presence of different skill levels and of course wonderful people.

I was lucky to start off the event with a talk on how to socialize your blog. Instead of creating a  traditional power point presentation, I decided to make a Word Press website! Just fits the situation too perfectly, also after seeing some great presentations at Social Media 201 , that were shown as websites, I thought this was the wave of the future. I have never been a slide-show kind of person anyway.

SocialUrBlog.com is the domain I decided to start building my showcase of tools for others to conveniently access at anytime.
